Dolrick 'Dol' Harrisson
A human man with weathered skin and a noble gait. His salt and pepper beard is neatly trimmed and his shining eyes betray a keen intellect. His expression is always calm and he has a jaded, 'seen-it-all-before' turn to his lips
Dol Harrisson was born simply ‘Dolrick’. His family were indentured servants to Clan Krenik, an influential Dwarven Clan from Dun-E-Dor, although they were badly treated and were little more than well-groomed slaves. They performed all the menial tasks required in the labyrinthine Clan Hold and attended many formal dinners serving visiting dignitaries. Dolrick’s life changed forever when he was sent to Salamonis along with his master while the rest of his family remained with Clan Krenik. Clan Krenik were heavy investors in the Salamon Rail Road and certain members were moved to new offices in the city to oversee the business, Dolrick’s master included.
Within a month, Dolrick’s master was assassinated by a business rival and Dolrick was able to escape during the chaos. He spent the next few years living on the street, calling himself Dol. He eventually fell in with the Red Knives and eventually met his close friend Rynn Werrock. Dol and Rynn worked together many times for the Red Knives, but the two men were getting too old to be running around the streets with all the youngsters, so they left the gang to seek out their fortunes as adventurers.
Their adventures were short, but memorable. Along with their companions, Phaerlan Osbourne, Lissa and ‘Nightshade’, they uncovered a stash of pirate gold in a ruin near Port Blacksand and after splitting it between them they each decided to retire from the life of violence while they had a life to live. Rynn eventualy settled down at The Dancing Griffon while Dol decided he would make something of his life too. Assuming the name ‘Harrisson’ (for he had no real surname except for ‘fyr Krenik’ meaning ‘property of Clan Krenik’ in Dwarven), he registered at the merchant’s guild and bought a stall and some fruit with the gold he had left from the pirate stash. Luckily for Dol he was a natural merchant, able to see the cheapest prices for goods and to estimate the trends in the city very accurately. He quickly built up his portfolio of stalls, shops, taverns and property in the city and has become one of the most successful traders in Salamon.
Dol’s life goal is to attain the position of Nobleman of Salamonis that he might return to Dun-E-Dor without fear of recapture (he is still technically property of Clan Krenik) and free his family. He knows his parents are likely dead as few servants live past their fifties under the harsh regime of Clan Krenik but he hopes his sister and brothers are still well.
Dol is a human man with weathered skin and a noble gait. His salt and pepper beard is neatly trimmed and his shining eyes betray a keen intellect. His expression is always calm and he has a jaded, ‘seen-it-all-before’ turn to his lips. When he speaks, his voice is a perfectly accented baritone and impeccably polite. He has a compulsive urge to clean things, a trait he inherited from his time as a servant and is constantly polishing something be it a candlestick holder on a stall or a coin in his pocket. He hates being referred to as ‘Dolrick’ and prefers ‘Dol’ despite his full name being on all legal documentation pertaining to him.
Recently, the adventuring group, Griffons Revenge assisted Dol during a raid on his manor. His friends, Rynn and Phaerlan had both been murdered and the party were lured to the manor by the mysterious ‘Spider’. The manor was later attacked by Goblin assassins. In a daring rescue, the adventurers managed to get Dol and one of his bodyguards to safety.
